New Website Taps into the Minds of Clever Parents

New Website Taps into the Minds of Clever Parents

Raleigh, North Carolina (PRWEB) April 19, 2006

Clever Parents (http://www.cleverparents.com) the website for smart, successful parents has officially launched. Clever Parents is different from other parenting media in that it focuses on parents, not just parenting.

Clever Parents taps into an expanding community of smart, successful parents who provide regular columns, ideas and product advice about a variety of lifestyle topics. The site also highlights Clever Parent entrepreneurs and ‘parentrepreneurs’ with feature interviews.

The site is for parents who make the most of every day and every dollar and who do it in a way that is clever. By parents, Clever Parents means moms and dads. No gender has a monopoly on good parenting.

“When you become a parent, your life changes, but it doesn’t end. Your priorities change and the variables increase, so you have to be clever to get it all done. We wanted a site that not only focused on parenting, but on parents and their interests beyond parenting. And by parents, we mean moms and dads. Too often parenting related media is only mom oriented,” said co-founder Kris Jackson.

The site is broken into sections covering topics of interest to parents—and comes from parent columnists and submissions from site visitors. “I think the positive feedback we receive about the site’s content comes from the diversity of our contributors,” said Kris. “For example, we have a dad columnist who is a dedicated foodie and a mom columnist and boutique owner who writes about style. Plus we have two wonderful contributors who have compiled kitchen and ‘Clutter Busting’ checklists for parents to download. We track what’s popular and pay attention to feedback. Our job is to be caretakers for the community.”

In addition to content from parents, another unique feature of Clever Parents is the spotlight on parentrepreneurs. “There are millions of businesses run by parents in America,” said co-founder David Jackson. “We’re seeing a lot of businesses pop-up as second sources of income now that one of the parents is staying home. Some of the businesses are home-based; some are run full-time, others part-time. I think we are tapping into a trend.”

“The interest we receive from ‘parentrepreneurs’ has been overwhelming and we hope that featuring them helps their businesses and that their successes and struggles will inspire other parents. As a parent, you are constantly juggling multiple demands-children, work, family, hobbies; these spotlights personalize how others are getting it done. The spotlights combined the community-generated content from other moms and dads are proving to be very popular. ”

New Parenting Magazine – InCultureParent – for Parents Raising Little Global Citizens

New Parenting Magazine – InCultureParent – for Parents Raising Little Global Citizens

Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) November 2, 2010

A new online parenting magazine launched November 1 for parents raising little global citizens. InCultureParent focuses on culture, language and tradition to appeal to parents raising multicultural and/or multilingual (or bilingual) children as well as parents interested in global parenting practices. InCultureParent is a new kind of parenting magazine that offers viewpoints from around the world.

InCultureParent provides an alternative to the dominant culture of mainstream parenting websites to better represent multicultural families. Additionally, tradition and faith become more relevant when families have children and mainstream parenting websites are largely silent when it comes to these areas. Founder and CEO Stephanie Meade explains, “I founded InCultureParent because of a recognizable gap in the existing marketplace of online parenting magazines. InCultureParent presents an alternative to the dominant culture of parenting magazines by providing perspectives on parenting from around the world.”

Concentrated on global parent culture and traditions, InCultureParent features research-based and anecdotal articles on parenting around the world and raising multicultural and multilingual (also bicultural and bilingual) children. Ms. Meade goes on to say, “We hope InCultureParent will appeal to a growing demographic of families who don’t fit into one box. We also hope InCultureParent will attract families who may neatly fit into one box but are interested in cultures and languages outside their own.”

The magazine’s debut includes four regular columns, including the Religious Life of Children written by authors from six different religions, and three bloggers who share the common theme of raising multicultural and multilingual children, in addition to articles on circumcision wars and navigating in-laws from other cultures. The magazine also spotlights two global holidays per month together with craft ideas for kids and recipes, and highlights books for kids with multicultural themes.
